Day 1 of Healthy Young Ones: Developing Peer Counselors on Adolescent Health Programs kicked off on September 26 with strong support from our leaders and community.

Local Youth Development Officer I, Mr. Kelvin John D. Bentayen officially opened the two-day seminar, followed by inspiring messages from the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President, Hon. Evelyn Ruth N. David, our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Ruth M. Delas Peñas, DOH-R1 Development Management Officer IV, Carmelita Genevieve P. Soliven, RN, and Nurse John Melson Nisperos.

To empower our future peer counselors, the Department of Health (DOH) team: Sharon Paulina V. Lavarias, Irene Joy Q. Aquino, Geraldine Lea P. Mariano, Carmella Dawn U. Sayan, and Mark Angelo E. Reynante successfully established a solid foundation on adolescent health concepts and interactive group engagement. The day ended with a walkthrough to the “Paglinglingayan ti Agtutubo” (Adolescent Heath Clinic) that allowed peer counselors to explore local wellness resources and assured them of a safe place for the them.
