EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITIES

The Local Government Unit of San Gabriel through the leadership of Hon. Lany M. Baobaoen-Carbonell, with the representatives from the different offices concerned welcomed OXFAM Pilipinas and Community Organizers Multiversity (COM) for a consultation meeting. Rapid integrated assistance for typhoon isolated coastal and indigenous communities was proposed to address the unmet needs of the most vulnerable, hard-to-reach IP community members in GIDA area of San Gabriel (Daking, Balbalayang, Bayabas).

The integrated response will focus across four sectors: Food security through multipurpose cash assistance and top-up cash for food and essential NFIs; WASH through water access restoration, sanitation repairs, and hygiene promotion; PROTECTION, including GBV referrals and psychosocial support; and Gender inclusion through awareness, assistance, and support for unpaid care work.
