“The Softbroom Capital of the North, and Premier Highland Vegetable Producer, & Adventure Tourism Paradise of La Union”

Last July 24, 2026, the Department of Agriculture

Last July 24, 2026, the Department of Agriculture – High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of San Gabriel, La Union, successfully awarded farm implements and vegetable seeds to Lacong Integrated School, the beneficiary of the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, in Barangay Lacong, San Gabriel, La Union.
The activity was implemented through the Municipal Agriculture Office, under the leadership of Mayor Lany Baobaoen-Carbonell, reaffirming the local government’s commitment to promoting sustainable vegetable production, improving nutrition, and strengthening food security through school-based gardening initiatives.
May these resources inspire students, teachers, and the community to cultivate not only productive gardens but also the values of stewardship, self-sufficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Together, we grow food, nurture young minds, and build a healthier and more resilient future.
