Municipality of San Gabriel and BDH Strengthen Community Partnership Through Health Education and Promotion Initiative
The team from Bacnotan District Hospital (BDH) paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Lany B. Carbonell following the successful conduct of a health education and promotion activity for daycare students in Barangay Poblacion.
The activity was led by BDH Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Jeffrey B. Julian, together with Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (HESU) Nurse Supervisor Youmna B. Ordinario, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Supervising Nurse Charizza R. Bautista, and Korean Volunteer Nurse Yechan Chin.
During the activity, the team implemented initiatives under Project A.L.I.B.T.A.K, a program spearheaded by the Nursing Service Division that aims to strengthen both hospital- and community-based health initiatives. The session focused on teaching daycare pupils the importance of proper handwashing and personal hygiene as essential practices in preventing diseases. Hygiene kits were also distributed to the students to encourage the continued practice of good hygiene habits.
This initiative marks the beginning of a stronger collaboration between Bacnotan District Hospital, under the leadership of Chief of Hospital Dr. Zenserly D. Pagaduan, and the Municipality of San Gabriel. The partnership reflects the Agkaysa Vision championed by Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, which promotes unity and cooperation in building a stronger and more responsive healthcare delivery network for the community.
