National Down Syndrome Celebration 2026

The National Down Syndrome Celebration, hosted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office La Union (PSWDO) of the Provincial Government of La Union, was held at the Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, bringing together Persons with Determination with Down Syndrome from different municipalities across the province.

The celebration served as a meaningful platform for social interaction, empowerment, and recognition, highlighting the abilities, talents, and confidence of persons with Down Syndrome.

One of the major highlights of the event was Mr. and Ms. ElyuSPEDtacular 2026, where participants proudly showcased their skills, grace, and individuality before an appreciative audience.

The LGU San Gabriel proudly congratulates Daisy Ann Velasco, who represented the municipality and earned the title Miss Elegance. Daisy impressed the crowd with her bravery, poise, and confidence, truly embodying grace and talent on stage.

As part of the activity, the PSWDO also conducted the Distribution of Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), reinforcing the province’s commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and support for PWDs. The event reaffirmed the importance of creating safe and empowering spaces where everyone is given the opportunity to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
