SAN GABRIEL FORTIFIES DISASTER READINESS; RECEIVES EMERGENCY AND RELIEF SUPPLIES FROM PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF LA UNION
In a proactive move to strengthen local disaster preparedness, the Local Government Unit of San Gabriel officially received an initial deployment of essential food and non-food relief items from the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), on June 17, 2026.
This strategic distribution is part of the province’s enhanced prepositioning program. By advanced-positioning critical assets and emergency equipment across various municipalities, the provincial government ensures a faster, more systematic, and immediate response to the needs of residents during unforeseen calamities and natural disasters.
The emergency provisions were handed over to Municipal Mayor Lany M. Baobaoen-Carbonell, alongside Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (MDRRMO) Romolus Chan and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Judy Anne Malatag, ensuring immediate inventory, proper storage, and systematic management.
The Local Government Unit of San Gabriel extends its deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Government of La Union, headed by Governor Mario C. Ortega, for their unwavering support, proactive leadership, and continuous guidance. This collaboration significantly boosts the municipality’s resilience and capability to protect and serve its people in times of crisis.
