San Gabriel Partners with DOST-I and DMMMSU for Community Development

Another meaningful partnership has been established for the continuous growth and development of the Municipality of San Gabriel, La Union through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Department of Science and Technology – Ilocos Region (DOST-I), the Local Government Unit of San Gabriel, and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU).
This collaboration marks the official implementation of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program, which aims to bring science, technology, and innovation closer to communities and help improve the lives of the people through sustainable and inclusive programs.
The partnership will primarily benefit the barangays of Apayao, Bayabas, Balbalayang, and Daking through projects and activities focused on livelihood opportunities, food security, environmental sustainability, skills development, and community resilience.
The MOA signing also reflects the shared commitment of the partner agencies in supporting the people of San Gabriel, especially in strengthening local industries, agriculture, and community-based initiatives that contribute to the municipality’s progress.
