TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN NR. 16 Tropical Storm #RamilPH
Tropical Storm Ramil (Fengshen) continues to move west-northwestward over the coastal waters of Quezon. As of 7:00 AM on October 19, 2025, its center was located near Mauban, Quezon, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h, gusts up to 90 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa. The storm is moving at 20 km/h, with strong to gale-force winds extending outward up to 430 km from the center. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is in effect over several areas in Luzon, including parts of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, northern Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and northwestern Camarines Sur. TCWS No. 1 is raised over a wider area, covering parts of Northern and Southern Luzon and nearby islands.
Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible storm surges are expected, especially in areas under Signal Nos. 1 and 2. Winds may be stronger in coastal and upland areas. Storm surges of 1.0 to 2.0 meters are possible within 24 hours along coastal areas of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, Marinduque, and Occidental Mindoro. Gale warnings are in effect for the eastern and western seaboards of Luzon, where seas may reach up to 4.5 meters, making sea travel risky for all types of vessels. Rough to moderate seas will prevail over other coastal areas, and mariners are advised to remain in port or take precautions.
Ramil is expected to make landfall over Quezon Province this morning, cross Southern-Central Luzon, and emerge over the coastal waters of Pangasinan or Zambales this afternoon. It will then move northwestward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow morning or noon. The storm may maintain its strength or slightly weaken while over land but is likely to re-intensify into a severe tropical storm once it reaches the West Philippine Sea. Residents and local authorities are advised to take necessary precautions, follow evacuation orders if needed, and monitor updates from PAGASA. The next bulletin will be issued at 11:00 AM today.
