Tropical Storm Ramil (Fengshen)

Tropical Storm Ramil (Fengshen) is now over Manila Bay as of 10:00 AM on October 19, 2025. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h, gusts up to 90 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa. The storm is moving west-northwestward at 15 km/h, with strong to gale-force winds extending up to 430 km from its center. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 remains in effect over several areas in Central and Southern Luzon, including parts of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, northern Bataan, northern and central Metro Manila, Rizal, northern Laguna, and northern Quezon including the Polillo Islands. Signal No. 1 is raised over the rest of Metro Manila, Bataan, Quezon, Laguna, and other parts of Northern and Southern Luzon, including Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and parts of the Bicol Region.

Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible storm surges are expected, especially in areas under higher wind signals. Winds may be stronger in coastal and upland areas, and storm surges of 1.0 to 2.0 meters are possible along coastal areas of Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Cavite, Marinduque, and Occidental Mindoro. Gale warnings are in effect for both the eastern and western seaboards of Luzon, where very rough seas of up to 4.5 meters make sea travel dangerous. Rough to moderate seas will persist elsewhere, and small vessels are advised not to venture out to sea.

Ramil is forecast to continue moving across Central Luzon before emerging over the coastal waters of Zambales or Pangasinan later this afternoon. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by tomorrow morning. The storm may maintain its current strength or slightly weaken while crossing land but could re-intensify into a severe tropical storm once it reaches the West Philippine Sea. Residents and authorities are advised to take precautions, follow evacuation orders where necessary, and stay updated through official PAGASA advisories. The next bulletin will be issued at 2:00 PM today.
